Another amazing week in Australia

On Tuesday at 9:00 we drove  to a swimming competition. The swimming competition was organized by the school. There are three houses: Ovens, Buckland and Kiewa.  These are names of rivers near Bright. I swam in three races in backstroke over 33 meters, backstroke over 66 meter and Medley Relay (Lagenstaffel) four times 33 meters.  But I was always the last one.  The whole school was dressed in the different house colors: gold for Ovens, blue for Buckland and red for Kiewa. After the competition it started to rain. In the next couple of days it rained a lot. Before we drove home we went to the sweet shop in Bright where I had a coffee. In the afternoon I went to a deer farm where I met Bruce and he showed me his farm.

We also saw a "Stingray"

On Wednesday I went with Matt's friends to the Linkin Park Concert in Melbourne. First the band  “STONE SOUR”played, then came Linkin Park. 10 minutes later the whole stadium were standing. We screamed so much that after the concert our voices were gone. After the concert we went to McDonald's, at about 2 am.

On Thursday I had to go to school although I had only slept for three hours, because we came home from the concert at 4:00am. But a strong coffee in the morning ... and no worries. This day I didn't do much.

I realized on this Friday evening finally that it is Friday. The school was always long and after school we drove to Melbourne, there we would stay at Phillip Island. The trip to Phillip Island took us six hours and we went to McDonald´s again. After arriving there we stayed with Matt's acquaintances for the remaining time. We arrived there at 12:00 o´clock pm and went straight to bed.

The next day was Saturday, and after we had breakfast we went to the beach and watched the Pelicans. In the evening we drove to the Fairy Penguins During the night approximately 700 penguins then came ashore to reach their hatcheries (Brutplatz). I couldn't take any photos, because it is forbidden.

"A lazy Koala in his tree"

On Sunday morning we went to watch the Koalas. We walked through a park and saw the very lazy animals. They sleep around 20 hours per day so they can be still alive. If they didn`t  sleep for this time they would die. Afterwards we went home and packed our stuff. We said “goodbye” and left the house. On the trip back to Bright we went to Mac Donald´s for the second time. The return journey was very long and we were glad and tired, because it was 11:00 o'clock in Bright when we arrived.

We also saw "Wallabys" in the Park

Greetings from Australia

    Hallo Georg,
    Christiane Kreplin
